The story around here involves food + friendship + warm weather + lazy days.
I started the weekend spending time with friends eating homemade french onion soup, cheesy bread, salad, appetizers and molten chocolate cake. Not a bad way to kick off the weekend. We enjoyed a fantastic meal together and caught up on everything going on each of our lives these days. There was talk of spring break, high school graduation, a wedding and so many other things. Plans were made to walk on Saturday but the time of day for the walk lead to a long debate (early morning! late afternoon!) before we finally settled on 10 a.m.
We were determined to get outside and walk because it's March and the weather is unseasonably warm. Wahoo! It was warm for Minnesota in March with a temperature in the high 30's when we hit the trail. I understand that in other parts of the country that is considered COLD, but for us it felt great. We walked on dry pavement, through snow, in mud, and through puddles. With the sun shining on our faces we accepted the mess on the walking path and the roads.
The rest of the weekend was fairly lazy. I did some cleaning, some laundry, watched tv and took a nap. I'll pay for it this week because there are a few things (like homework!) that I should have worked on, but oh well. It was fun to be lazy!
We're looking at 50 degree temps all week and that, my friends, sounds GRAND.
