This past weekend was one of those rare and magical weekends that I didn't have any commitments. Friday night, Saturday and Sunday were all blank in my planner which meant that although I had several things to get done, I didn't have any timeline to follow. On Saturday morning I slept until 10:15 a.m. Love that.
The weather was cool over the weekend - almost downright cold. The sun was shining but there was a cool breeze which made it a great weekend for yard work and spending time outside, and then snuggling under a blanket once the sun set.
I spent my time outside planting flowers, weeding my flower garden, and doing Round #1 of my garage cleaning project.
One of the side effects that I wasn't really expecting from my recent kitchen remodeling project was that my garage turned into a huge mess. For a few months over the winter there were construction workers in & out of my garage day after day. I thought I did a pretty good job of moving things out of their way before the project started, but I didn't realize just how much "stuff" they were going to be bringing in (lumber, doors, a sink, tile, flooring, etc.). Things got completely out of hand and because it was winter it wasn't a great time to clean everything up once they were gone. I really want to take everything out and incorporate some new organizational elements, but for Round #1 I swept the floor, wiped down flat surfaces and reorganized as much as I could. There's more work to do but the work I got done made a big improvement.
I checked a lot of things off my to-do list over the weekend, but also found some time to relax. To me, that's a pretty perfect weekend.
