Winter is the perfect time to make soup, and last weekend I did just that. I found a recipe on Pinterest for Stuffed Pepper Soup and thought it sounded easy, but good.
One of the ingredients was garlic, which can be a real pain to peel. I remembered a video I saw recently that claimed to show how to peel garlic in 10 seconds and decided to give it a try.
You can check out the video here. Basically you put the cloves in a bowl (with a lid) and shake it like crazy for 10 seconds and WALA, peeled garlic.
Rather than using metal bowls like shown in the video I decided to use a plastic container with a lid. It worked well, but I think the reason metal bowls are recommended is that they are harder, so that probably works better.
The trick definitely works, but it took me longer than 10 seconds to get the beautifully peeled garlic shown here. Again, I think that may be because I used plastic instead of metal. Either way, it did work and it's a trick that I'll use again.
Oh, by the way, the soup turned out awesome. Here is a link to the recipe I used. Try it!
