TWENTY-SIX OF FIFTY-TWO: swimming in a pool.
I grew up in Minnesota, the Land of 10,000 Lakes. In fact, I grew up living ON A LAKE. Because of where I grew up swimming in a lake is something that is completely normal to me. I know that for people in other states/countries that may not be the case.
Although swimming in a lake can be fun and refreshing, it's never been my favorite thing. Knowing that there are fish in the lake doesn't really bother me, but I'm not a big fan of the weeds. Also, in many lakes the water isn't necessarily clear so you can't see what's below you and you certainly can't see the bottom.
The older I get the more I realize that I really prefer swimming in a pool. The water is cleaner, it's easy to get in and out and it just looks inviting.
I have the perfect back yard for a pool; it's big and flat. I'd love to have a pool in my yard but it's just not practical in this climate. It would take years to recoup your investment since you can only use an outdoor pool for a few months of the year in Minnesota. BUT, if I lived in a warmer climate I would definitely want a house with a pool.
Swimming in a pool. It's one of the things I love.
