Lately I've been eating an apple a day as part of my effort to make healthier food choices. My daughter pinned a recipe for a healthier version of fruit dip and it has become one of my favorite snacks. Paired with a Honeycrisp apple it's a real treat.
The original pin (on Pinterest) was from POPSUGAR Fitness.
- one 5.3 ounce container of nonfat greek vanilla yogurt
- 2 tbsp peanut butter
- 1/2 tbsp honey
- 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
I use Chobani vanilla greek yogurt, Skippy creamy peanut butter, Mrs. Butterworth syrup and McCormick cinnamon, all shown in the above photo.
I mix all of the ingrediants in a small, Ikea food storage bowl and take it to work with me, along with an apple. I usually eat the apple + dip with my lunch, and one recipe usually lasts for 3-4 days. At just 66 calories per serving it's a low calorie addition to my lunch and it's really, really good.
The dip can be used with any fruit, but so far I've only tried it with apples. If you are looking for a healthier version of fruit dip you should give this recipe a try. I think you'll like it.
