On January 1st, 2013 I set a goal to walk Two Miles a Day every day in 2013. When I set the goal I wasn't sure I could do it because no matter how good intentions may be, life sometimes gets in the way. I was proud and surprised when December 31st, 2013 rolled around and I met my goal.
On January 1st, 2014 I decided to continue my goal to walk Two Miles a Day in 2014. Then I got sick - I mean really sick. I ended up missing five days of walking in a row, which was really frustrating and disappointing. However, rather than just give up on the goal I decided to forge ahead and continue with my goal, knowing that the year would have an * by it.
As we reach the end of April I'm excited to say that I have walked Two Miles a Day every day in 2014*. That asterik is going to drive me crazy all year. Let it go, let it go.
Here are a few fun facts about my walks so far this year:
- I walked outside one day this winter . . . and it was COLD
- I typically watch several YouTube videos each day while I walk on my treadmill
- I've walked around Lake of the Isles in Minneapolis twice with my daughter and her dog
- For the last three weeks I've walked 2.5 to 3 miles each day
I'm well on my way to meeting my goal to walk Two Miles a Day every day in 2014. There will be days that it would be nice to take a break or that walking will be difficult due to scheduling conflicts, but hopefully I'll perservere and continue to get it done.
