I live just barely out in the country but because there are fields around me I'm sometimes lucky enough to see wildlife.
It's kind of hard to concentrate on the deer because all I see when I look at this photo is how long my lawn was! We had a stretch of hot weather - 100 degrees and humid - so I put off mowing my lawn until it cooled off a bit. Take my word for it, it looks much better now.
Just last night I was grilling and saw three deer run through my neighbor's yard, cross the road and run through the neighborhood. I'm not sure if it's the hot weather or the fact that we haven't had much rain lately that has the deer on the move.
Later the same day that I saw the deer I went out to the garage to leave the house and saw a baby bird sitting under my car.
I'm not sure why this little guy was in my garage and I was very cautious as I approached to make sure it was a bird and not some other little creature. Sure enough it was a bird and I was able to get close enough to snap this photo.
I didn't dare back my car out of the garage because I didn't want to run him over so I got a broom and gently moved him out onto the sidewalk. By the time I returned home he was gone, hopefully back to his nest.
I've been working hard to get things back on track after taking two trips in June. Unfortunately I'm now working on a home improvement project that was not in my plans. I'll be back to tell you about that soon.
